Great Neighborhood Hotels

If Michigan Avenue isn't really your thing, you're looking for a real Chicago experience, or downtown prices are too steep!

City Suites

Right off of Chicago's not-so-scary public transit, this small, new hotel is along the Belmont shopping/nightlife stretch and steps away from Boystown, Chicago's beloved gayborhood.

The Majestic

This new, boutique hotel is a perfect spot for anyone who wants to spend time at the Lakefront, Wrigley Field, or the lovely Lakeview neighborhood. Easy access to Lake Shore Drive makes getting downtown easy via Lyft or Bus.

The Willows

This apparently French-style inn sits on the border of the Lincoln Park and Lakeview neighborhoods. Great access to parks, the lake, museums, and food and drink options galore.

Meant to be Shared

The River North (which is technically downtown-ish) neighborhood is home to not one but two fancy-as-all-heck hostels. Both have single or double rooms at reasonable prices, but these are perfect choices for workfam posses (or amiable strangers) in groups of 4.

The Freehand

This place looks like rich 90s socialites founded a hostel which was sponsored by Crate & Barrel. It's certainly cozy and has free breakfast , wifi, and a bunch of other perks.

FOUND Chicago

Pretty sure this is the only "hostel" ever that can boast a karaoke bar, a bakery/coffee shop, and a full restaurant. It's in a gorgeous gem of a restored building, so it's a great choice for history buffs!

There are simply too many to list here, in a wide variety of neighborhoods, price points, occupancy limits, and styles.

Great neighborhoods to consider:

Downtown or Damn Close - The Loop, West Loop, South Loop, River North, Streeterville, River West

Further out (but not too far... think Lyft/Uber or transit) - Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Bucktown

Explore the Northside (largely accessed by the CTA train and buses or Lyft/Uber) - Lakeview, Andersonville, Lincoln Square, North Center
